Unit) is commissioned by the
Health Protection
Agency.
The National Poisons
Information Service does not accept enquiries from the public.
The knowledge and
experience of the NPIS (Birmingham Unit) staff is supplemented by an
extensive collection of toxicology databases, literature searching
facilities, some 600 reference texts and over 65,000 original
references.
The Birmingham Unit also
publishes
Current Awareness in Clinical Toxicology,
a comprehensive monthly update of literature on the clinical,
occupational and environmental toxicology aspects of toxicology, which
is distributed worldwide
The Birmingham Unit is
responsible for the NPIS Product Data Centre to which all Units have
access.
